Linking careers and sustainability: From research to practice in guidance

ETBI Webinar

Date: Tuesday June 2nd Time: 11.00am – 12.00pm GMT

This webinar explores how career development and sustainability are becoming increasingly interconnected. Drawing on the research and practice of the Exploring Green Guidance project, it presents key evidence on how climate change and the green transition are reshaping labour markets, education, and career choices. Participants will be introduced to the concept of green guidance and different ways of understanding it – from supporting individuals in adapting to change to enabling them to actively shape a more sustainable future. The session will also share practical insights from international pilot activities, including tools, methods, and examples of how career practitioners are already integrating sustainability into their everyday work. The webinar will address key challenges, including ethical dilemmas, institutional barriers, and the question of how far career practitioners should engage with systemic change. It will conclude with reflections on the future of guidance and the role of practitioners in supporting both individuals and society in times of transition.
