Europass
Europass is a free, online European platform with tools and resources to help manage career and learning across Europe, making skills and qualifications understood by employers and educators in other European countries. It provides a personal profile to store experiences, tools to create standardised Curriculum Vitae and cover letters, and information on jobs, courses, and skills recognition in different European countries, supporting mobility and lifelong learning.
Eurodesk
Eurodesk is a European youth information network that provides free information to young people and youth workers. It acts as the primary support structure for the Erasmus+ programme and the EU Youth Strategy, helping young citizens access international opportunities.
EURopean Employment Services
EURES (European Employment Services) is a cooperation network designed to facilitate the free movement of workers within the European Union, European Economic Area and Switzerland. It was established by the European Commission, it celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024 and continues to serve as a bridge between jobseekers and employers across the continent.
Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe
EPALE aims to improve the standards of adult education across Europe through mutual learning between adult learning professionals
International Networks
Network for Innovation in Career Guidance and Counselling in Europe (NICE)
NICE is a network of institutions involved in training practitioners and organises workshops and summer schools.
International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance (IAEVG)
The International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance (IAEVG) provides global leadership in and advocates for guidance by promoting ethical, socially just, and best practices throughout the world so that career, educational and vocational guidance and counselling is available to all citizens from competent and qualified practitioners.
European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training
Placed at the centre of European cooperation, Cedefop aims at improving vocational education and training (VET) through effective policy-making. Grounded in its 2019 recast Founding Regulation (Repealing Regulation (EEC) No 337/75 as amended by No 2051/2004) and reflecting the tripartite principle that underpins successful VET, the mission defines Cedefop’s main partners.
CEDEFOP also hosts CareersNet (CNet) which is Cedefop’s network of independent experts in lifelong career guidance and career development, managed within the Lifelong guidance project, Department for VET and skills, within the area of VET support policies. The members of CareersNet are individuals with recognised expertise in the area of lifelong guidance and career development. They are selected based on a call for experts, subject to an evaluation process and are nominated by Cedefop’s management.
The International Centre for Career Development and Public Policy
ICCDPP provides up-to-date information on career guidance policies and systems, drawn from countries and international organisations worldwide
European Doctoral Programme in Career Guidance and Counselling (ECADOC)
ECADOC started as a European Commission funded project under the Lifelong Learning Programme from October 2013 to November 2016. The project targeted to set up a European doctoral school specialising in Career Guidance and Counselling. It was a joint project of higher education institutions from 15 European countries, but already from the beginning the idea was to open the programme for doctoral researchers from all of Europe. The first ECADOC Summer School was organised in 2014 in Padova, Italy.
The 13th ECADOC Summer School will be hosted by Trinity College Dublin in partnership with Education and Training Boards Ireland in August 2026.
European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network
The European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network, ELGPN was established in 2007, with the aim of assisting its member-countries and the European Commission in developing European co-operation on lifelong guidance in both the education and the employment sectors. The role and aims of the Network were endorsed in the second EU Council Resolution passed in 2008.
The Network promoted lifelong guidance, particularly through the Open Method of Co-ordination in 2007-2015. During its five phases (2007-2015) , the ELGPN was co-ordinated by a team from Finland.
ERASMUS+
Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. It has an estimated budget of €26.2 billion. This is nearly double the funding compared to its predecessor programme (2014-2020). The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life. It supports priorities and activities set out in the European Education Area, Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. The programme also:
- Supports the European Pillar of Social Rights
- Implements the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027
- Develops the European dimension in sport
